School Bot Crush Brent

assistance to Togo Lome Association

Phew, the last two weeks have made me really tired. There were also the most informative and best weeks I have experienced so far and constitute a big change for me.

As reported in the last entry has to get the Solidarity Centre on Wednesday two weeks ago visiting assistance to Togo. Overall is a group of nine people come. We have looked at the Centre together and talked about some things, like a fountain, a photo-voltage line and a bridge that will connect the town over the river behind the center to us.

Since we got well right away, I was the group invited to ride with them to Agbetiko on the border with Benin to take up an association funded by the school visit and see the damage after the long rains. After I received permission from my father and my guest had brought the project site, the trip was going the next morning. In Lomé, we made a break (with Swiss sausage salad) and will continue to be a friend and partner of the club, where we were greeted with trumpet music. Although the orchestra played 20 meters away, has determined that we have talked impossible. The next day, after a short trip to the Mono River, the border between Togo and Benin, we have been received before the new school with a better delivery TamTam. It is inconceivable how long it is until all were sitting in the right place. It is rather discuss than traded. Ultimately, we agreed and the big speeches, followed by loud music and traditional dancing could begin. Even if it was really interesting to witness such a thing, I was glad when the crowd is dispersed and we in the stuffy tent while the equally hot, but also fresh air could. After we have watched a dispensary (village clinic), which, like many others, also in a really bad state. On Saturday we again went back to Kpalimé many hours to drive the next day, the plateau de Dayes, the approximately 70 km north of Kpalimé. Traveling is really very stressful, because it just hot and dusty and the roads are sometimes in very bad condition, riddled with potholes. The climate of the plateau was just beautiful. In the evening it took me even frozen, I had not enough to attract it. I would have never imagined. Very nice! We have moved in a German hostel, has lived for 30 years in Togo and competent in the plateau for the agricultural projects of the association. His wife has catered for us with the best meals of beef from own production. This is otherwise a rarity.

on until our return home Friday, we have looked at the projects of assistance to Togo. These include several schools and kindergartens with tanks and latrines, dispensaries, and afforestation with schnellwachsendem wood. In the schools, we have distributed booklets and kits for the school team that has made all pleasure. We could not even save us some of a loud children.

sweet, right?
The highlight of the day of departure was a tarantula on the terrace.

Back in Kpalimé we do not have the warehouse with the two containers full of Donations from Germany sighted and partially distributed. It is really sad and discouraging when things were not determined in the container, place. There is always a slit ear that will enrich themselves. One can not blame some times when you see the poverty here.
On Tuesday we visited in the fetish market in Lome. Madness which are issued as part of Animal and people think to die too, that a bit of ground elephant bones, mixed with snake skin and alligator eyes can ease her arthritis. Apparently all the animals died naturally, except the poisonous snakes that can kill you.

tough job!
evening is help for Togo again traveled to Germany in the cold, there is probably already the first snow? I have left is Julia2, a volunteer for three months, which will provide me with the Centre Solidarité uncertain. We will manage a fund, among other things, set up the aid to Togo in order to ensure the medical care of the poorest class. This is a big challenge for us, because free care gets around quickly and suddenly all will probably be destitute. It's like a balancing act to decide who is truly in need and who only feigns. Nevertheless, a great experience for us.We got a room at the Centre, where we donated the material, especially syringes, needles and bandages store that will be used for social events. Yesterday we started to unpack and sort everything. A tough job, but we also have fun while each Mange. I'm curious how our project develops and pray to Dieu tout Puissant that we do not fall on your face.
